Weeney Bay in Botany Bay
D'harawal Language Informant, John Malone's father (Irishman, James Malone) held land at Weeney Bay, the southern shores of Botany Bay. John Malone regularly travelled by boat to visit his grandchildren, Eliza and Mary Malone at Ellesmere Camp on the shores of Kogarah Bay during 1850s-1880s. D'harawal man, William Rowley was living in Weeny Bay in 1893 when he was appointed Overseer & Manager of Thomas Holt's extensive oyster beds enterprise.
