Warringah Golf Club
Another of the wetlands inhabited by northside Koori people was the area today occupied by the Manly golf course, the Warringah Golf course, the Nolan Reserve and the Manly Lagoon. The area formed the winter quarters of a Gai-mariagal clan and like other similar areas, provided shelter, food, material to barter, proximity to the township, yet in an area where the clan was able to stay out of sight.
The Brookvale creek site was used as the Manly rubbish tip during the 1950s which, even though the area was later reclaimed, greatly polluted the area. (Read 2000, pp. 22-23)
